Experience:
I was an International student at SUNY Geneseo for 4 years starting in August of 2002. While I was here I played for the SUNY Geneseo Men's Varsity Ice Hockey Team and won two consecutive SUNYAC championships.
During the summer of 2006, I worked as an International student worker where I created and researched a handbook for SUNY Geneseo's international student athletes. That summer I also assisted with the International Student Orientation where I constructed presentations and discussions on academic and personal success strategies.
Over the past two years I have worked at a variety of jobs. In 2007 I worked as a substitute teacher in Geneseo, NY and Dansville, NY, before accepting a 3rd grade long-term substitute position in the Dansville School District.
I also acted as the volunteer assistant Men's Ice Hockey coach at SUNY Geneseo. In 2008 I was hired on as the head assistant coach of SUNY Geneseo's Men's Ice Hockey team where I was heavily involved in the day-to-day operations and recruiting of prospective student-athletes.
Current
Activities:
In my spare time I really enjoy coaching the sport of hockey and am currently the volunteer assistant coach of the Men's Ice Hockey team here at SUNY Geneseo.
I enjoy many different sports apart from hockey, including golf, beach volleyball, and weight-training.
I love the outdoors. I really enjoy camping and experiencing the different parts of nature and what activities it has to offer.
One of my favorite responsibilities at the International Office is having the opportunity to meet and work with the diverse group of students and student-athletes from all different parts of the world. My goal is to make the transition and adjustment period to SUNY Geneseo as easy and fun as possible.
As a trained educator and former student-athlete I understand my role as a mentor and practical resource for you as an international student and I look forward to working with all of you!
