Alejandra

Junior

Major: Communication
Minor: Graphics production
Expected Graduation Year: Spring 2010

Experience:

  • I was born in the U.S. while my parents were graduate students in an American university. However, raised by a Honduran father and a Mexican mother I have lived in Latin America my whole life. I have lived in countries such as Costa Rica, El Salvador, and currently, Honduras. I am a fully bilingual (Spanish and English) speaker. Even though I do not use my Spanish very often, being abroad has made me realize how important and useful it is to master two or more languages.

  • This is my third year in Geneseo and it is also my second year as a student worker in the International Students Services office. I have really enjoyed working with different people and getting to know the students.

  • During my first year I lived in corridor style dorms. For my second year in Geneseo I lived in a 6-person suite. This is one of the several living arrangement choices Geneseo provides its students living on-campus.

    Office Responsibilities:

  • General office work

  • E-mail correspondent answering questions and/ or concerns from prospective students

  • Work on the ISS computer database

    Current Activities:

  • I am a member of “The Royal Lady Knights,” also known as RLK. This is a social organization in Geneseo. Our organization’s main objective is to carry out and give back to our community and society as much as possible. This is done by planning different service projects around the area and within Geneseo. Besides community service, we are also interested in having a good time! Being a member of RLK is a great way to meet new people and even make life-long friends!
